Back to School program registration begins July 21st

Catholic Charities of Coles, Douglas and Edgar Counties will be supplying backpacks with new school supplies to children attending grade school in Mattoon.  The Salvation Army will be supplying school supplies to students attending Mattoon Middle School or Mattoon High School.    In order to qualify, children must qualify for the free or reduced lunch plan and must register.  Registration for the supplies will take place at The Salvation Army located at 1300 Richmond Ave. and Catholic Charities located at 4217 Dewitt.  Families can register at either location.  The two agencies will be sharing their lists.  Registration at Catholic Charities will be between the hours of 9 am – 1 pm Tuesday through Friday between July 21st and July 31st.   To register at The Salvation Army, come in between 10 am – 3 pm Monday through Friday between July 20th and July 31st.   Proof of guardianship or a medical card will be required at both locations.  If the student is already getting supplies from ERBA or some other program, they will not qualify for this program.
