Meals of Hope for Effingham Catholic Charities Food Pantry

Posted on February 10, 2016

When Section 20 Future Farmers of America (FFA) decided to take on the task of completing Meals of Hope they knew it was going to be an effort on all parts to accomplish. The surrounding schools that make up Section 20 raised nearly $15,000 to put on the event at the FFA Annual Leadership Training School at Lake Land College.

Dieterich FFA donated $1,000 towards the cause and sent 6 members to Leadership Training School to help with the packaging of the meals.  Their FFA Chapter selected Effingham Catholic Charities as the recipient of their portion of the meals.  Their $1,000 donation was enough meals to feed nearly 1000 people.  Meals of Hope is a national organization and the Dieterich FFA was delighted to be able to pull off such a large task and thrilled to donate locally to better their community.

Dieterich FFA representatives Hunter Flach and Brandon Kuhl are shown in photos delivering the meals to Catholic Charities.

Catholic Charities wishes to thank the Dieterich FFA Chapter for their generous donation.
