Pack the Pantry Tea Party

Posted on August 30, 2016

A group of local ladies recently hosted a Tea Party to help stock the Catholic Charities Food Pantry.  The event included a morning of socializing with tea, coffee, a variety finger foods, an attendance prize won by Somia Satar and a raffle basket won by Catherine Bailey.

The attendees helped stock the pantry by purchasing pre-packed bags of food from Martin’s IGA or Wal-Mart and/or giving monetary donations for the pantry.

The Catholic Charities Food Pantry based in Effingham feeds approximately 700 to 800 families per month.  Because of the high demand, the pantry has a constant need for supplies.

Catholic Charities would like to acknowledge and thank the following ladies for their tireless efforts in organizing this event: Liz Schmidt, Cindy Eder, Cindy Kabbes, Tess Kabbes, Myra Oltman, Carolyn Spraul and Alli Schumacher.
