The WSOY Community Food Drive returned to the Decatur community on October 4th, 2024 and the local Catholic Charities office was an honored recipient of the community’s efforts to raise funds and food.

WSOY, NowDecatur, United Way of Decatur and Mid Illinois, ADM, Kroger and the community partners; Buds and Blooms, Central Illinois Media Group, Colee’s Corner Drugs, Dale’s Southlake Pharmacy, Decatur Back and Neck, Dynagraphics, First Mid Bank and Insurance Group, Heart of Illinois Community Foundation, Hickory Point Bank, Investment Planners Inc, Jones and Thomas/JT Net, McDonalds Decatur, McLeod Express, Skeff Distributing, Speed Lube and WAND-TV announced the final totals of over $700,000 for local agencies addressing food security in the local community.

For 20 years, Decatur Catholic Charities has been a proud partner and recipient of the WSOY Food Drive. 

With new leadership at Catholic Charities, Northeast Community Fund, The Salvation Army and The Good Samaritan Inn the partnership with the WSOY Food Drive deepened with involvement in planning/staging and fundraising for the event. Volunteers and leadership from all the agencies participated in planning meetings and volunteered the day of the event.
