On Tuesday, July 14, Catholic Charities of Effingham served 20 families, totaling 74 people from Wheeler.

Catholic Charities Food Pantry in Effingham, in collaboration with HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, began providing one gallon of milk to pantry clients on July 1.

The Community Action Committee of Hitachi Metals Automotive Components (HMAC) recently sponsored an effort to collect money for a donation to Effingham Catholic Charities Food Pantry.

Catholic Charities will begin offering heart healthy food options from the food pantry beginning August 1st.

Ramblin’ Rose Bus Schedule Set

The Ramblin' Rose Bus, a ministry sponsored by Effingham Catholic Charities, will travel to 14 towns in the seven-county area this summer to deliver school supplies and clothing. The program is designed to provide assistance to families with limited financial means, who qualify for free or reduced school lunches.

Catholic Charities of Coles, Douglas and Edgar Counties will once again bring their truck with school supplies for children to several local areas. New school supplies and backpacks will be available at no cost to students on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Catholic Charities of Coles, Douglas and Edgar Counties will be supplying backpacks with new school supplies to children attending grade school in Mattoon.

On Thursday, May 28, Catholic Charities of Effingham and the West Union Christian Church partnered to serve 25 families, totaling 52 people from West Union and West York area for the Mobile Food Pantry Run in the town of West Union.

Catholic Charities’ Advisory Board provided 84 players with a fun filled day at the 16th Annual Austin Luckett Golf Outing held May 8 at Cardinal Golf Course.

The agency will commemorate its 90th anniversary with a series of celebratory events over the course of 2015.
