On Wednesday, March 9, Catholic Charities of Effingham and the Altamont Community partnered to serve 34 Families, totaling 94 individuals from Altamont and the surrounding areas for the Mobile Food Pantry Run in the town of Altamont.





When Section 20 Future Farmers of America (FFA) decided to take on the task of completing Meals of Hope they knew it was going to be an effort on all parts to accomplish. The surrounding schools that make up Section 20 raised nearly $15,000 to put on the event at the FFA Annual Leadership Training School at Lake Land College.


Benefit to help Madison County charities

ALTON — Dinner, dancing and a $10,000 prize raffle all will be part of the 16th annual Madison County Catholic Charities’ fundraiser, “Help on the Move,” on Saturday, Feb. 27. The gala will begin at 6 p.m. at the Atrium Hotel, 3800 Homer Adams Parkway, in Alton. The NKG Band featuring Alton’s “Big George” will entertain with ‘60s, ‘70s and blues music.
