Some people find their budgets will not stretch to include both food and prescription medicines. At Catholic Charities, we believe no one should be without prescribed medications because they cannot afford to pay for them. MedAssist staff help clients determine their eligibility and, if they qualify, complete applications to programs pharmaceutical companies have for the poor.
Emergency Prescription Medication Assistance (Alton & Granite City)
The target population of the prescription medication assistance program is those with immediate medication needs who have no or limited prescription drug coverage. Advocates assist eligible clients in obtaining medicines from an approved local pharmacy. When funds allow, advocates can also assist with medical supplies depending on the situation.
